'Dynamic and deadly'

“We’re happy to have added another talented youngster to our squad,” said Schalke sporting director Horst Heldt. “He’s a dynamic, deadly striker. We’re certainly looking forward to seeing how he’ll progress in the next few years.”

Wright, who impressed in a trial spell with Schalke in 2014, will be hoping to become the latest star to pass through the club’s renowned Knappenschmiede academy, which has produced the likes of Leroy Sane and Max Meyer in recent years.

“I’m sure that he’ll prove to be excellent for the U19s and first team,“ said Knappenschmiede director Oliver Ruhnert. “We’re certain that Haji has the necessary qualities to succeed. It’s really impressive how quickly he’s managed to learn German, too.”
