Bayer 04 Leverkusen and VfL Wolfsburg played out one of the most thrilling matches in Bundesliga history on Matchday 21 of the 2014/15 season.
Visitors to the BayArena on that 14 February 2015 will never forget what they witnessed that day. It was a St. Valentine's Day treat served up to the tune of goals rather than roses.
Bas Dost scored four in a remarkable, topsy-turvy encounter which had it all, including a hat-trick for Leverkusen's Heung-Min Son which was ultimately worth only half of the matchball.
Wolfsburg's Dutch destroyer headed Wolfsburg in front in the sixth minute, adding his second before half an hour had been played after Naldo's long-range free-kick had already increased the Wolves' lead. Victory already looked like it was theirs with an hour still to play.
Some stern words from Leverkusen coach Roger Schmidt at half-time saw Leverkusen come out transformed after the interval.
Heung-Min Son bagged a brace to bring Leverkusen back into the game, before Dost completed his hat-trick to restore Wolfsburg's two-goal advantage. And there was still more to come as the tactical script was thrown out of the window…
Son struck again and Karim Bellarabi equalised for the hosts with the eighth goal of a remarkable game.
Son's joy at what would otherwise have been a memorable afternoon for him turned to sorrow when, with the final kick of the game, Dost broke Leverkusen's hearts and snatched the points.
It was all part of an extraordinarily high-scoring weekend of action in the Bundesliga, which included FC Bayern München's biggest win in 30 years - an 8-0 thumping of Hamburger SV.
And here it all is again, nine goals and plenty of emotions and drama on a spectacular Valentine's Day outpouring of love for Bundesliga football, courtesy of the Bundesliga's official YouTube channel.
