Four Bundesliga stars called up by USA for World Cup qualifiers

USA coach Bruce Arena has named four Bundesliga players in his 24-man squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Honduras and Panama.

Previously regulars under former coach Jürgen Klinsmann, Fabian Johnson (Borussia Mönchengladbach), Bobby Wood (Hamburger SV),John Anthony Brooks (Hertha Berlin) and Christian Pulisic (Borussia Dortmund) have all retained their place in Bruce Arena's first competitive UMSNT.

The quartet have all been in sparkling form for their clubs in the Bundesliga.

Johnson has contributed an impressive eight goals in 32 appearances this season as the Foals continue to battle away on three fronts.

Wood has been a shining light for struggling Hamburg, scoring eight goals in 23 competitive games so far this term, including the winner last time out against Johnson's Gladbach.

The so-called 'Wall of Brooks' has also shone for the capital club in 2016/17. The 24-year-old has played every minute of his 17 Bundesliga appearances this season as Hertha have turned the Olympiastadion into a fortress.

The youngest member of the quartet at just 18 years of age, Pulisic's star-spangled banner continues to rise ever higher. The youngster has featured in all but seven of Dortmund's 37 competitive fixtures this campaign, having a hand in 14 goals, including the DFB Cup quarter-final victory over Sportfreunde Lotte.
