Stefan Kießling has joined two exclusive clubs in his Bundesliga career: he has broken through the 300 appearance barrier in the Bundesliga, and netted over a century of German top-flight goals, placing him in the top-20 of the all-time scorers' list, and he still has a few years – and goals – left in him to polish off that record. The Bundesliga's top-scorer in the 2013 season, and runner-up in 2010, has yet to win any silverware, however. He finished second in the Bundesliga with Leverkusen and third at the 2010 World Cup with Germany, and a major trophy is all that is lacking to crown his career.

  • Only Ulf Kirsten (177) has scored more Bundesliga goals for Leverkusen as Kießling.
  • His haul of 136 Bundesliga goals to date includes one which did not actually enter the net correctly – his 'phantom goal' against Hoffenheim.
  • He opened his account for the season on the opening day for a record four years in a row between 2012 and 2015.
