As the stars of the league of the world champions, it should come as no surprise that Bundesliga players rub shoulders with some marquee names in entertainment.

bundesliga.com looks at some of the German top-flight's social media kings and their celebrity friends...

Let's start with Jerome Boateng. A FIFA World Cup winner with a host of medals at club level and the Best Dressed Man of 2015 according to GQ Magazine, the 27-year-old is a man with access to many exclusive circles. Boateng is also the first footballer to sign to Roc Nation Sports, the sports arm of the talent group founded by US rapper Jay Z, and so his popularity, especially in the USA, is likely to soar in the future.

Here's Boateng posing with one of the world's most successful rappers and producers:

Music is one of Boateng's passions and he is often pictured meeting musicians. Here he is with another US rapper Lil Wayne:

Jerome's half-brother Kevin-Prince is also an avid Twitter user and regularly rubs shoulders with some of the world's biggest names. Here he is with NBA star LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers:

During the 2014 World Cup, Barbadian singer Rihanna was one of the biggest supporters of Germany team and was present at the team's after party following their 1-0 win over Argentina in the final in Rio de Janeiro. Here she is with matchwinner Mario Götze of FC Bayern.

Back in the summer, Götze posted many a tweet of his holidays in the USA. Here he is meeting popstars Selena Gomez (c.) and Will.i.am (l.):

Here's Bayer 04 Leverkusen star Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez with British boxer Amir Khan. Khan, from Bolton in northwest England, visited Manchester United's training ground when Hernandez was still a Red Devils player.

And here's Chicharito (2nd l.) with another hugely successful Mexican export, actor Diego Luna (r.), who was also the director of a short film about Chicharito entitled #MiedoNo (No Fear), released in 2013:
