Cologne - As many as five FC Bayern München players have been named on the FIFA Ballon d’Or 2015 shortlist, with Pep Guardiola also in contention for the World Coach of the Year award.

Thomas Müller, Manuel Neuer, Robert Lewandowski, Arjen Robben and Arturo Vidal are among the 23 candidates for the main prize, after Bayern lifted their 24th Bundesliga title under the guidance of Guardiola in 2014/15 and Vidal won Serie A and reached the final of the 2014/15 UEFA Champions League with former club Juventus FC, before helping his native Chile to their maiden Copa America crown in summer 2015.

The winners will be elected by the national team captains and coaches as well as international media representatives, and are to be announced on 11 January 2016.
