Borussia Dortmund defender Marc Bartra will be back in training within four weeks after being injured in a bomb attack on the team bus, the club said on Thursday.

The Spanish defender underwent surgery after breaking his wrist in Tuesday’s blast, which resulted in Dortmund’s UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg being rescheduled for the following day.

Speaking a day after his side’s 3-2 loss against Monaco, Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel joked that Bartra would already like to return to action on Saturday despite his arm being in a cast.

Tuchel also said that the 26-year-old wanted to “break all records” by coming back within the four-week recovery time.

On Wednesday Bartra had posted a post-surgery photo of himself on Instagram, telling fans that he was doing “much better” after the operation.
