Sandhausen's Manuel Stiefler channels inner Zlatan Ibrahimovic with spectacular scorpion kick goal in Bundesliga 2
Sandhausen midfielder Manuel Stiefler stole the spotlight in the Bundesliga 2 on Matchday 27, channelling his inner Zlatan Ibrahimovic to score a sensational 'scorpion kick' goal in his side's match against Bochum.
Sandhausen won a corner in the 18th minute of their mid-table clash on Saturday, and although Bochum looked to have cleared the danger initially, the ball was headed back into the box, allowing Stiefler to pounce with a gorgeous effort, adjusting his body in mid-air to flick it into the net from a horizontal position.
The goal evoked memories of Ibrahimovic's similar strike for Paris Saint-Germain against Bastia, or more recently, Olivier Giroud against Crystal Palace or even a throwback to Rene Higuaita’s magical save for Colombia against England in 1995.
Despite Stiefler's opener Sandhausen went on to lose the game 3-2 and slipped to 10th in the standings, just three points above the relegation zone.
