“I think Munich is a beautiful city, the club is great and I would like to stay here for many years,” the 26-year-old said during a Q&A session in the Bavarian town with a population of 700. Asked what silverware he would most like to win with Bayern, the former Porto, Monaco and current Real Madrid loanee didn’t hold back. “The Bundesliga, the [DFB] Cup, and why not the Champions League too!” he enthused.
His form steadily improving with the passing of each week, James is bedding in nicely at Bayern and has proved a hit with coach Jupp Heynckes, who sees the 2014 FIFA World Cup top scorer as an integral part of his plans. The South American has scored twice and provided four assists in 16 games across all competitions this season while his performances are befitting of a player growing in confidence.
“I feel great here at the moment and you can see that reflected out on the pitch,” the Colombia international said recently. “Most of the things I try to do work out. Obviously that has a lot to do with the fact that I've played a lot recently. I just want to play my part in helping Bayern win,” he added. And with his long term plans fixed on Bayern, trophy success is surely not far away.
