Bayern Munich's James Rodriguez and Joshua Kimmich named in UEFA Squad of the Season
Bayern Munich pair James Rodriguez and Joshua Kimmich have been named in the UEFA Squad of the Season.
UEFA's team of Technical Observers, among them former Werder Bremen coach Thomas Schaaf, selected their 18-man squad from players involved in the 2017/18 UEFA Champions League.
James, 26, featured in all 12 of Bayern's games in Europe, making eight starts. He registered assists in the home win over Paris Saint-Germain on Matchday 6 and in the first-leg defeat to parent club Real Madrid in the semi-finals. The Colombia international midfielder scored his only goal in the return fixture as Bayern bowed out 4-3 on aggregate to the eventual tournament winners.
Technical Observers say: Performed excellently in the knockout stages, particularly in the second leg against Real Madrid.

Kimmich also produced the goods on a regular basis. The Bayern right-back scored twice in the groups and chimed in with three assists, before netting home and away against Madrid. The 23-year-old made 11 appearances, including 10 starts.
Technical Observers say: Energetic full-back helped Bayern's run to the semi-finals, and an excellent goal in the semis gave his team belief.
