Hertha Berlin have made their first signing of the 2018/19 campaign, recruiting Dutch teenager Javairo Dilrosun from Premier League champions Manchester City.

The 19-year-old winger, who has been in the City youth system since joining from the Ajax academy in 2014, has put pen to paper on a long-term deal in the German capital.

"We've had our eye on him for a while," said Hertha sporting director Michael Preetz. "We've been following his development: he's enjoyed an excellent technical and tactical education at Ajax and Man. City, and we're pleased to have beaten other big clubs to his signature."

"The club has a lot of young talents that have moved here and had the chance to shine," Dilrosun told the Hertha website. "It's a philosophy that I really like. Pal Dardai told me that I'm a good fit for his system. I'm a winger and a lot of what Hertha do goes through the flanks."

Dilrosun, who turned out for City's U-23 side this term, has made 45 appearances for the Dutch junior international sides at various levels.
