While Bundesliga fans will doubtless miss the flair and panache that the Brazilian speedster brought to the Allianz Arena, Costa left plenty of memories during his two-season stay in Bavaria. Accordingly, bundesliga.com has dug into the archive to find the 26-year-old's top moments in Germany's top flight...

Debut vs. Hamburg, August 2015

Despite being signed from Shakhtar Donetsk to much fanfare, Costa was an unknown package to most Bundesliga fans when he arrived in Munich in summer 2015. Plenty have struggled with the transition to the pace and power of Germany's top flight, but Costa left little doubt as to his quality on the opening weekend of the 2015/16 season in a 5-0 hammering of Hamburg. Starting wide on the left, the Brazilian was a constant threat and set up Thomas Müller before rounding off the scoring with a fine finish in the closing minutes.

Latin flair with Thiago, April 2016

Costa went viral in April 2016 with a skills session alongside Thiago in the warm-up prior to Bayern's 3-1 win at Stuttgart. The skills warm-up certainly served Costa well - he went on to score the third goal to round off the triumph and inch Bayern closer to the Bundesliga title.

Selfie celebration, October 2016

Costa caused quite a stir in October 2016 against Borussia Mönchengladbach when, after scoring in the 31st minute to make it 2-0 (the eventual final scoreline), he ran to two friends in the front row of the Allianz Arena stands and took a selfie in celebration. "If he keeps scoring, he can take 100 selfies," said a relaxed Mats Hummels afterwards. "He's a joker," said Joshua Kimmich, while Müller put the alternative celebration down to "positive emotions". Indeed, Bayern had been struggling to gel under new coach Carlo Ancelotti, but Costa's fine display laid down a marker for the rest of the season.
