Frankfurt - Eintracht Frankfurt have improved their attacking options for the new season by signing striker Luc Castaignos from Dutch top-flight outfit FC Twente.

Versatile across the front

The 22-year-old has signed a three-year deal with the club that finished ninth in the Bundesliga table in 2014/15.

“In Luc Castaignos we’ve signed a player who can play in lots of different positions in attack,” enthused Eagles’ sporting director Bruno Hübner. “Despite lucrative offers from other clubs, Luc looked at the opportunities we can give him here and decided to come to Eintracht.” Castaignos himself, meanwhile, was delighted to seal a transfer to Germany’s top tier. “The Bundesliga is one of the best leagues in Europe. I’m happy to be here and to be able to compete at this level," he said.

Born in the Netherlands to a French father and a Cape Verdean mother, Castaignos began his professional career at Dutch giants Feyenoord, moving to FC Internazionale de Milano in 2011 and then back to his homeland to play for Twente in 2012. He scored a total of 42 league goals in 102 appearances in the Eredivisie.
