Nuri Sahin could yet play a part in Borussia Dortmund's final four games of the Bundesliga season despite damaging ankle ligaments in the Matchday 30 win at Borussia Mönchengladbach.

The 28-year-old sustained a partial tear in an ankle in a challenge from Tobias Strobl; Dortmund had initially feared the injury would be more serious, potentially ending the Turkey international's season.

Though Sahin will miss Wednesday's DFB Pokal semi-final with Bayern, he could yet play a part in the run-in as Thomas Tuchel's men seek to clinch a top-three finish and automatic qualification for the UEFA Champions League group stage.
