Borussia Dortmund's Christian Pulisic returns to the USMNT team for November friendlies against England and Italy. Werder Bremen's Josh Sargent is another one of six Bundesliga stars called up by Dave Sarachan.

Pulisic, 20, has made just one appearance for the USA this calendar year - a friendly match against Bolivia - due to injury and club commitments, but has registered one goal and two assists in his last seven outings for 2018/19 Bundesliga leaders Dortmund.

Schalke all-rounder Weston McKennie also makes his return to the squad having missed the October friendlies against Colombia and Peru through injury. He joins Sargent, Wolfsburg defender John Brooks, Hannover forward Bobby Wood and Julian Green, who plays in the second tier with Greuther Fürth, in Sarachan's 28-man squad.

Hertha Berlin's Jonathan Klinsmann, son of former coach Jürgen, has been called up as a late replacement and could make his first senior appearance for the USMNT.

Sargent’s inclusion comes despite the 18-year-old having not stepped on a Bundesliga pitch in his career thus far. Although his Bremen coach, Florian Kohfeldt, has recently hinted that the the teenage striker’s time in the club’s U23 squad – for whom he has scored seven goals in just eleven appearances – will soon be over.

Pulisic’s nomination means that he could come up against Dortmund teammate Jadon Sancho at Wembley Stadium in London, on 15 November.

With four goals in seven appearances in all competitions since making his England debut from the bench in a friendly against Croatia last month, Sancho is once again in Gareth Southgate's squad.

Hoffenheim’s Reiss Nelson misses out, however.
