FC Bayern München winger Franck Ribery has signed a one-year contract extension with the record German champions.
The Frenchman’s previous contract was due to expire next summer, but the new deal will keep the 33-year-old at the Allianz Arena until 30 June 2018.
"I’m very happy to stay at FC Bayern for another year," Ribery told the club’s official website. "This extraordinary club and the city have become my home, both in a sporting and private sense. I’m looking forward to many more special moments with the Bayern fans and would like to contribute to more success for the club in the next 18 months."
"Six German championships, five DFB Cups, one Champions League, one FIFA Club World Cup and one UEFA Super Cup - Franck Ribery has been a major part of Bayern’s success in recent years," said executive board chairman Rummenigge. "He’s a key player for us and a fans’ favourite. We’re happy that we’ve been able to extend Franck’s contract for another year."
