Borussia Dortmund’s 12-year-old sensation Youssoufa Moukoko has been called up to the Germany Under-16 squad after hitting 10 goals in just four games for BVB’s Under-17 side this season.

“[Moukoko] is a win for team,” said Dortmund’s U17 coach Sebastian Geppert of the Cameroon-born prodigy, who has scored four fifths of his age group’s goals so far this season. “He’s done a fantastic job. He provides an incredible goal-threat and is often unstoppable for opposing defenders when going forward.”

Germany’s U16s play Austria on 11 and 13 September, with the squad of 22 players born almost exclusively in 2002 aside from Moukoko. Geppert, though, has no doubt the youngster will succeed.

“In addition this his threat, he is also playing very well team-wise and finds himself in the right place through teamwork.”
