Jhon Cordoba is expected to return to the starting XI for 1. FSV Mainz 05 after starting on the bench in the DFB Cup defeat to Greuther Fürth. Fabian Frei is a doubt for the game and either Jose Rodriguez or Suat Serdar could start in his place as Mainz look to bounce back from a cup exit and their 3-0 loss at Schalke.

FC Ingolstadt 04 are expected to revert to their regular starting XI that drew 3-3 with Borussia Dortmund following their exit from the DFB Cup at the hands of Eintracht Frankfurt on Tuesday where they made seven changes. Mathew Leckie is expected to start in place of the injured Dario Lezcano.
