It was an historic moment for the Tampa-born star, but not the only history he created on Wednesday. Green’s header, which put Bayern 2-0 up against their Bavarian rivals, was the first goal ever scored for the record champions by a USMNT player.

Green is in good company in the Bundesliga, with fellow USMNT stars such as Borussia Dortmund’s Christian Pulisic, Borussia Mönchengladbach's Fabian Johnson, Hertha Berlin centre-back John Brooks and Hamburger SV’s Bobby Wood lighting up the German top flight in recent weeks and months.
