SC Freiburg coach Christian Stretch may opt to revert to a back four for the visit of Augsburg and while forward Nils Petersen is an option in attack, the Black Forest club are likely to side with Florian Niederlechner, who has one Bundesliga goal to his name this term. Onur Bulut and Janik Haberer, meanwhile, will present their coach with a selection headache.

FC Augsburg's Alfred Finnbogason is expected to make his return from the adductor injury he picked up while on international duty, but should the Iceland international fail to start, a place in attack could be offered to Dong-Won Ji. The recovered skipper Paul Verhaegh and Georg Teigl will contest for the right-back berth.
