Wolfsburg - VfL Wolfsburg ended disappointed for a second time this week after local rivals Hannover 96 left the Volkswagen Arena with a 1-1 draw.

Andre Schürrle: "We were really motivated from the off but we didn't manage to score as early as we would have liked. We were the better team for 90 minutes and absolutely deserved to win. Sometimes in football it goes like that, though, and we didn't make enough of the chances we had. It's pretty tough to take but dwelling on it doesn't help. Wednesday's game [against Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League] is already almost upon us so we have to focus on that now."

Ricardo Rodriguez: "We wanted more today. We really wanted to win and react to Tuesday's defeat in Munich. We didn't do enough though, we had lots of chances but couldn't take advantage of them."

Daniel Caligiuri: "It's not enough only to take a point from facing Hannover at home. With a little bit more luck we would have won today."

Ron-Robert Zieler: "The team was alive today. If we play like that against Werder Bremen, then I'll be happy."

Artur Sobiech: "Perhaps we could have won today, but we have to be happy with a point in Wolfsburg after a tough week. Hiroshi Kiyotake's goal was a lovely move and we showed that we can defend compactly. We need to work hard next week and make sure we take three points at home against Bremen."

Marcelo: "It was a great game today. We controlled Wolfsburg's attackers well and we'll take a lot of confidence from the point. It's really important to build on that against Bremen next week. Every game is tough in the Bundesliga but at home we'll have chances."
