SV Darmstadt 98 head coach Norbert Meier could welcome captain Aytac Sulu and striker Sven Schipplock back into the matchday squad against SV Werder Bremen, the two players having missed the last three and two matches respectively through injury. Sandro Sirigu is expected to fill in for the suspended Leon Guwara at left-back.
With defender Lamine Sane still a doubt after sitting out the 2-1 win over VfL Wolfsburg with a knee problem, Milos Veljkovic could once again deputise at the heart of the Bremen back four. Of more concern for interim coach Alexander Nouri, however, is the condition of influential attacker Serge Gnabry, who was forced to miss training in midweek with a knee complaint of his own.
