- Dembele loving life at Dortmund.
- Registered assist against Freiburg.
- Formed a close bond with Aubameyang.
The 19-year-old was unplayable at times in Friday's 3-1 win over SC Freiburg, something he believes is simply a result of BVB's infectious team spirit.
Question: Ousmane Dembele, another win for BVB. What did you make of the game?
Ousmane Dembele: I think it was a fully deserved win. We had more of the ball and also had some good chances. Obviously I'm happy to have contributed again with my assist. That makes me happy.
Watch: Thomas Tuchel on Dortmund's Matchday 5 triumph:
Question: It was you second assist and fifth appearance in the Bundesliga, and you've already scored one goal yourself. Are you not surprised by how quickly you've slotted in at Dortmund since leaving Stade Rennais in the summer?
Dembele: I feel really happy in this team. I'm playing football with some great guys. We all understand each other really well. We enjoy playing football and have a good time on the pitch. You can see that in our game. If we get the right results, that's even better.
Question: You're often very selfless when you play, favouring a pass rather than a shot at goal. Does that come naturally to you?
Dembele: My decisions are based on the situation at hand. If I see other players in a better position, like with the opener today when [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang was through, then I make the pass. Obviously I sometimes try to have a shot myself, but you have to decide there and then.
"Aubameyang's my go-to guy. He's such a help."
Question: Aubameyang ran straight over to you after he scored. Did he whisper something in your ear? What did he say?
Dembele: "Thank you!" He just thanked me for the assist.
Question: Are you happy to have Aubameyang by your side here in Dortmund - on and especially away from the pitch?
Dembele: Aubameyang is my go-to guy. Like Raphael Guerreiro, he also speaks my language, which is a massive help. Auba's always there if I have any questions. He's such a help - that's great for me.
Question: You've got Cristiano Ronaldo's Real Madrid up next on Tuesday. What's the overriding feeling? Excitement or respect?
Dembele: I'm really excited to face Real Madrid. They're a massive team with fantastic players. I'm really looking forward to it.
