Question: Christian Pulisic, congratulations on your first goal! What went through your mind?
Christian Pulisic: I didn’t know what to think to be honest. I was just focused on my celebration. I was so excited to finally get my first goal in the Bundesliga. It was just amazing.
Question: What kind of celebration was it? You waved your hands to the left and right..
Pulisic: Yeah it’s called dabbing. It’s just a little celebration that I have from my American roots. It’s just a dance, that’s all you need to know!
Question: You made your second start in a row…
Pulisic: Yeah, I was very excited. I started against Schalke and then again today so I’m just doing whatever I can to help the team win.
Question: What did the coach tell you?
Pulisic: Just to go out there and give it my best, which is what I tried to do today.
Question: You were certainly successful!
Pulisic: Well, thank you very much!
Question: Things weren’t that fluid at the start. Why was that?
Pulisic: It was difficult for us to break through their lines at the beginning. They played well but once we got that first strike, our confidence went up and the play just flowed better.
Question: How difficult was it to get the Liverpool game and Anfield out of your minds?
Pulisic: It was quite difficult but we spoke about it and tried to move on and focus on this game, so we were just ready to play this game.
Question: Now you have another important game on Wednesday |DFB Cup semi-final against Hertha Berlin]. How are you preparing for that?
Pulisic: We’re very excited by the challenge and we know Hertha Berlin are going to be ready to play as well, so that’s exactly what we need to do.
Question: Did the win today give you confidence?
Pulisic: Of course. A good win today in a big game like this is always good for the confidence.
Question: Do people in the US know how much of a rising star you are at one of the biggest clubs in football?
Pulisic: In the US? Yeah, I know a lot of people follow me and I think I have a bit of support there which is good. It’s just awesome to be a part of that.
