Goalless between Darmstadt and Hoffenheim

Darmstadt - TSG 1899 Hoffenheim remain winless in 2015/16 after being held to a goalless draw by promoted SV Darmstadt 98.

A first half of precious little goalmouth action failed to dampen the mood inside Darmstadt’s iconic Merck-Stadion am Böllenfalltor. The home fans were in five voice throughout, even though it was Hoffenheim who enjoyed the lion’s share of possession and went closest to opening the scoring through Mark Uth, who shot wide.

Hoffenheim were again the more adventurous of the two sides after the restart, albeit without once testing Darmstadt goalkeeper Christian Mathenia. TSG head coach Markus Gisdol turned to Chilean newcomer Eduardo Vargas in the 76th minute and Kevin Kuranyi saw an effort cleared off the line, but it was the Lilies who almost nicked the points with their first shot on goal through Sandro Wagner in injury time.
