With the game just eight minutes old, Hertha's Genki Haraguchi played a sublime pass into the feet of Ibisevic, who controlled well under pressure from a ruck of red shirts and calmly slotted under advancing Ingolstadt goalkeeper Orjan Nyland for his first Bundesliga goal of 2016/17. Ingolstadt were much improved towards the end of the half, with Dario Lezcano denied at point-blank range by Hertha custodian Rune Jarstein.

After Ibisevic tested the reflexes of Nyland early in the second half, Ingolstadt began to ask questions of the Hertha back four. Australia international Mathew Leckie carved out an opening for Lukas Hinterseer, who was unable to beat Jarstein, before Markus Suttner flashed an effort over the crossbar. Hertha did well to weather the brewing storm, though, and duly doubled their tally late on through substitute Julian Schieber to make it two wins from two to start a season for the first time in their Bundesliga history.

Man of the Match

On top of his two assists, Haraguchi was a bundle of energy in the Hertha midfield and is showing signs of becoming a key player for the Old Lady in the season ahead.
