Koen Casteels (VfL Wolfsburg, 10 points) - provided the foundation for Wolfsburg's second clean sheet in as many Bundesliga games in the goalless draw with 1. FC Köln.

Defenders

Konstantinos Stafylidis (FC Augsburg, 13 points) - scored the winning goal with a direct free-kick as FC Augsburg secured their first Bundesliga win of the Dirk Schuster era at the expense of SV Werder Bremen.

Marvin Plattenhardt (Hertha Berlin, 12 points) - put in another impressive all-round display, including a clean sheet and a team-leading 11 tackles won as Hertha Berlin made it two wins from two with victory over FC Ingolstadt 04.

Niklas Stark (Hertha Berlin, 11 points) - helped Hertha record their first shut-out of the season and came out on top in ten of his attempted challenges.

Jeffrey Bruma (VfL Wolfsburg, 11 points) - kept a clean sheet, won more tackles (11) and completed more passes (51) than any other player on the pitch against Köln.

Midfielders

Benjamin Henrichs (Bayer 04 Leverkusen, 12 points) - provided the assist for Joel Pohjanpalo's second goal and enjoyed the second highest number of touches (82) in Leverkusen's 3-1 win against Hamburger SV.

Caiuby (FC Augsburg, 12 points) - registered the joint-highest number of attempts on goal (three) and won a staggering 24 of his attempted challenges.

Pablo De Blasis (1. FSV Mainz 05, 13 points) - scored twice and registered an assist as Mainz scored four first-half goals for the first time in their Bundesliga history in a barnstorming 4-4 draw with TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.

Forwards

Maximilian Philipp (SC Freiburg, 17 points) - scored twice from four shots on goal as Freiburg came from a goal down to beat Borussia Mönchengladbach 3-1.

Robert Lewandowski (FC Bayern München, 15 points) - had more attempts on goal than any other player at the VELTINS Arena and scored the opening goal nine minutes from normal time to propel the defending champions to a 2-0 win at FC Schalke 04.

Joel Pohjanpalo (Bayer 04 Leverkusen, 16 points) - introduced by Leverkusen in the 72nd minute, the Finnish striker netted three times in eleven minutes against HSV.
