Charles Aranguiz is in line to make his Bayer 04 Leverkusen debut after being included in their squad to face VfL Wolfsburg on Friday night (kick-off 20:30CEST/18:30GMT).

The Chilean international has been beset by injury since joining Die Werkself in the summer, but head coach Roger Schmidt delivered the good news at a press conference on Thursday, revealing that Aranguiz will be part of his matchday squad. Lars Bender also returns after an almost five-month injury absence.

"We've been able to build them both up in training and it's a very positive situation when injured players return," Schmidt said. "Of course neither of them are yet 100 per cent, but they are only going to get there by getting minutes under their belts, and I intend to give them those minutes in our coming games."

One of Aranguiz's last competitive appearances was in the final of last summer's Copa America, which Chile won for the first time. He played in all six games of his country's successful campaign.
