Thorgan Hazard (Gladbach midfielder): "I try to do my best and I keep my confidence. Today I'm happy because we won 5-0 and I scored two goals and helped the team. It's good for me and for the team. I had some chances in the first half and could have scored more."

Granit Xhaka (Gladbach midfielder and captain): "We're delighted with this win. We were by far the better team over the 90 minutes and deservedly won 5-0. We even covered well for the loss of Raffael and it was a convincing team performance. We showed how strong our squad is and that we have a lot of quality. After a day like this, we can have a good feeling when we look at the league table. We deserve to be up there and now we want to get the very best we can out of the season."

Yann Sommer (Gladbach goalkeeper): "This was really a great game from us today, not letting our opponents have a look-in. We showed once again that we've got some incredible quality in the squad and this was a big game today that we've won 5-0 – that says it all. I'm delighted because I didn't have a lot to do and that shows how well we did today. We've now got to keep our concentration levels high because it's still all very tight in the battle for third, and we've got to show the same quality when we play Ingolstadt next weekend."

Patrick Herrmann (Gladbach midfielder): "It was a fantastic game from us. We showed that we've got some real quality players, particularly up front. We got it almost all spot on and we deserved to win by such a margin. It was a great day for all of us. I was also delighted to see Andre Hahn score again after he's been out so long. These three points are hugely important because we couldn't afford to lose today. Now we'll take things from game to game and aim to get the best result we can."

Tony Jantschke (Gladbach defender): "We’ve been playing well in recent weeks and this result is our reward for all that. We've got a really strong squad and we showed that today. Everything's coming so naturally for us at the moment and now we're going to try to win our last six games of the season. We've got to get back to winning ways away from home now and if we can play the way we did today, then I'm optimistic that we'll achieve our goal for the season."

Andre Schubert (Gladbach coach): "It was a very good game from us and we had control right from the start, playing the ball around well. We hardly let them have a chance in the whole 90 minutes, and we created plenty of opportunities ourselves and took them well. I think we can be very happy with this performance. This win puts us in a very good position heading into the final straight of the season."

Marvin Plattenhardt (Hertha defender): "We didn't get into the tackles well and didn't compete. We tried to create chances, but they were very strong and they finished off theirs well. We don't need to talk about the Champions League right now."

Fabian Lustenberger (Hertha defender): "It's a bad day for us. We lost the ball in silly areas and made a lot of mistakes. They have a lot of quality going forward and they made us pay. We have to write this game off and prepare for next Friday."

Pal Dardai (Hertha coach): "The result's fair, even with this margin. We didn't have a good day and we were inferior in every department. We just couldn't get into the game in the first half and Borussia controlled it from start to finish. After the break, they just tore us to pieces. They were far too quick for us up front and just scored one after the other. That was a performance of Champions League maturity from them and we've got to acknowledge that. Now we've got to stomach this and work hard to make sure we win our next game."
