Pizarro ruled out of Bayern clash
SV Werder Bremen's striker Claudio Pizarro has been ruled out of Saturday's cash with his former side FC Bayern München due to injury.
Match preview: Bayern vs Bremen
The Peruvian veteran - who spent nine years over two spells at the Bavarians, winning six Bundesliga titles - has a groin strain. He is joined on the sidelines by midfielder Fin Bartels, who misses the trip south with a cold.
The loss of Pizarro is a big blow for Viktor Skripnik's side. The 37-year-old, who is the record foreign goalscorer in the Bundesliga, has been in glittering form in recent weeks, with four goals and one assist in his previous two games to help lift Bremen from 16th to 13th, three points above the drop zone.
