Hoffenheim and Wolfsburg were in full agreement that TSG deserved their 1-0 win over the Wolves in their post-match press conferences after Matchday 26.

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim 1-0 VfL Wolfsburg

Goals: 1-0 Kramaric (3')

Julian Nagelsmann (Hoffenheim coach): "We defended well despite great pressure. We expected that from Wolfsburg, but we allowed only one real chance. We followed our plan despite taking an early lead. A second goal would have served us well, but we will take it as it comes. The fans were very much behind us. Koen Casteels saved a penalty but we got over that. Russell Canouse was used today after good performances in training. I'm happy for him. I am sure we will stay up if we work as hard as we did today."

Dieter Hecking (Wolfsburg coach): "Hoffenheim earned their three points. We played very poorly today and we looked very tired in the game. We were not sharp and Hoffenheim capitalised with the early goal. Then our passing was very sloppy, so Hoffenheim could always win back possession easily. We had no rhythm throughout the first half. Koen Casteels kept us in the game with his penalty save but we did not create any real chances."

Andrej Kramaric (Hoffenheim striker): "The goal was a perfect moment. The ball from Kevin (Volland) was perfect. I controlled the ball well and hit it beautifully. It is always good to take an early lead. We have secured three very important points. We have to continue to play the same way in order to pull away from the bottom and stay in the league."

Oliver Baumann (Hoffenheim goalkeeper): "At the end it was an ugly game. In the beginning we were very good. Towards the end it was one team or the other losing possession too much and we had little relief. We were strong getting over the missed penalty. That can happen. We are a team. Everyone is fighting for each other. We left it all out there. That's all that counts. I need no praise for a clean sheet - that is what I am there for."

Kevin Volland (Hoffenheim forward): "I took my last two penalties well but today it did not work. Overall, we were very solid and played with passion. I could have scored, of course, we could have finished them off. Then we wouldn't have been so nervous at the back."
