With Kevin Vogt suspended and Fabian Schär still not fully shaken off his long-standing adductor complaint, Niklas Süle is expected to shift across to the centre of the back three with Ermin Bicakcic coming in for his first start in three Bundesliga matches. Should coach Julian Nagelsmann opt for a 4-3-3 system, one of either Patrick Ochs, Marco Terrazzino and Adam Szalai could be drafted in.

Suspended for the midweek UEFA Champions League draw with Atletico Madrid, Benjamin Henrichs will drift across to left-back to replace Wendell, sent off in the MD24 draw with Werder Bremen. At right-back, Roberto Hilbert could make his first Bundesliga appearance of the season, though Tin Jedvaj might feature there if Ömer Toprak (ankle) is fit enough to occupy his place in central defence.
