Frankfurt's personnel worries have eased somewhat ahead of the visit of Hamburg, with left-back Bastian Oczipka available again following suspension, central defender Jesus Vallejo back from injury and fit-again playmaker Marco Fabian pushing for his first start of the year. Taleb Tawatha, Michael Hector and Mijat Gacinovic are expected to make way.

Hamburg midfielder Nicolai Müller returns for following a cold, but may have to settle for a place on the bench. With the exception of centre-back Mergim Mavraj, Markus Gisdol otherwise has a fully fit squad to choose from.
