The Foals had been fighting on all three fronts until Thursday evening, and once again named a strong line-up in the UEFA Europa League tie against Schalke. Fabian Johnson and Christoph Kramer both went off injured in that game are remain doubts for Sunday. Mo Dahoud is also suffering from thigh issues, but the severity is not yet known and he could still feature. Captain Lars Stindl has missed the past few games and could be in line for a return, but this game may have come slightly too soon.

Having had the luxury of watching some of his team's UEFA Champions League rivals in action in midweek, Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti will be able to to field a full-strength line-up bar the suspended Arturo Vidal. The Chile midfielder's fifth yellow card of the season in last weekend's win over Frankfurt means Xabi Alonso is in contention to return after missing the last three top-flight games. Joshua Kimmich or Renato Sanches are also options for Ancelotti in that role.
