After last week's win over Borussia Mönchengladbach, Leipzig will be looking to further close the gap on leaders Bayern Munich, who are currently five points clear at the top. Willi Orban returns from suspension, while Bernardo is set to start at right-back in place of Benno Schmitz. Without any European or DFB Cup football clogging up their calendar, Leipzig have the luxury of a full week's training before their remaining Bundesliga outings, meaning that coach Ralph Hasenhüttl should not have to rotate his team as often as title rivals Bayern and Borussia Dortmund in the coming months.

Cologne are expected to field a similar team to the one that earned a point against in-form Schalke last Sunday. Frederik Sörensen is suspended after picking up five yellow cards, and so Dominic Maroh will start alongside Neven Subotic and Dominique Heintz in a three-man defence. Serbian midfielder Milos Jojic is also likely to keep his place in Peter Stöger's starting XI, as the Billy Goats bid to inflict a third defeat in four games on Leipzig, and boost their own European hopes.
