Darmstadt coach Torsten Frings confirmed that both Sidney Sam and Jan Rosenthal were returning to full training on Thursday, effectively giving them the green light to be fit for action in Saturday's basement battle. Hamit Altintop should start and may come up against his twin brother, Halil Altintop, but Peter Niemeyer is suspended.

For Augsburg, Halil Altintop expected to be only on the bench but will be confident of making an appearance. In his stead, Raul Bobadilla, who has overcome a knock to his knee, will likely lead the away side's attack.
