Bayer 04 Leverkusen have been dealt a double blow with both Ömer Toprak and Kevin Kampl laid low by muscle injuries.

The pair were both substituted at half-time of Die Werkself’s 1-0 defeat at home to Borussia Dortmund on Sunday after sustaining the problems in the opening half of the Matchday 22 encounter.

Centre-back Toprak, who has been in remarkable form in recent weeks, requires treatment on a left adductor problem while midfielder Kampl is nursing a left calf muscle strain.

No official indication has been given as to the duration of the pair’s absence.
