Robert Lewandowski moved to the top of the scoring chart as he helped FC Bayern München to a 3-1 win over FC Augsburg in Sunday's Bavarian derby.

FC Augsburg 1-3 FC Bayern München

Goals: 0-1 Lewandowski (15'), 0-2 Lewandowski (62'), 0-3 Müller (78'), 1-3 Bobadilla (86')

Without the injured Holger Badstuber, David Alaba partnered Joshua Kimmich in a new-look Bayern defence. Raul Bobadilla first sniffed some defensive disorganisation in the 12th minute, but he could not meet Philipp Max's cross faced with only Manuel Neuer. It was not long before Bayern led, though, with Robert Lewandowski turning expertly before sending a low shot past Marwin Hitz. Lewandowski and Müller both had shots blocked as Bayern pressed for a second.

Their pressure paid off after an hour with Thiago Alcantara sending a delightful ball forward for Lewandowski, who welcomed the invitation to curl in his 21st goal of the season. Further chances went begging before the selfless Douglas Costa teed up Müller to add his name to the scoresheet and put the result beyond doubt, although there was still time for Raul Bobadilla to turn and score a consolation.

Talking point

The complete Bayern staff entered the arena with shirts saying "We are with you, you will make it again" on the front, and 'Badstuber' with number 28 on the back in a show of support for the central defender, who faces a further three months out after injuring his ankle in training on Saturday. The Germany international has featured in only 17 of Bayern's last 106 Bundesliga games since his injury agony started in early 2013.
