Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had already tested Diego Benaglio when Jeffrey Bruma inadvertently headed a Piszczek cross into his own net to give Dortmund a deserved lead. BVB continued to circulate the ball with purpose and precision, but a lapse in concentration almost let the Wolves back in on the stroke of half-time, with Yunus Malli curling agonisingly wide from the edge of the box.

Normal service was resumed early in the second half, however, with Piszczek's opportunistic finish giving Dortmund a deserved two-goal cushion. Benaglio thwarted Gonzalo Castro moments later, but the Swiss stopper was powerless to prevent Ousmane Dembele adding his name to the scoresheet with a towering header from Piszczek's inch-perfect cross. An offside flag denied Aubameyang a piece of the goal-scoring pie 15 minutes from time.

Man of the Match

Spending the majority of his time in and around the Wolfsburg box, Piszczek played an absolute blinder from start to finish. Who would have thought the Pole is a right-back by trade?

Talking Point

Without doubt one of Dortmund's most polished performances of the season, Thomas Tuchel will be hoping for much more of the same as Die Schwarzgelben step up their pursuit of second-placed RB Leipzig.
