Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang proved the match-winner for Borussia Dortmund once again on Saturday, with his header giving Thomas Tuchel’s men a 1-0 win over high-flying RB Leipzig.

The three points lifted Die Schwarzgelben to third for the first time since Matchday 11, with Aubameyang lending weight to his coach’s recent assertion that: “We will not achieve any of our goals without Auba.”

Question: Congratulations for the win against Leipzig and for your goal. What about the impact of Ousmane Dembele?

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang: Ousmane's work was unbelievable. Everyone was focused on Marco Reus who was lurking behind me, then I went to the back post where he had been and it turned out to be a very nice combination!

Question: You could have won by more…

Aubameyang: Yes, we had a lot of chances. But the most important thing was that we won. But we have to work on our finishing, because we had four or five big chances.

Question: You are now in third, eight points behind Leipzig. What do you think about the race for second place?

Aubameyang: I always think about it! (laughs). The most important thing today was the victory. Of course we can reach second place, but we have to keep working as hard as we did tonight. Every player really gave everything they had.

Question: The 50,000 Bundesliga goal could be scored next weekend. Would you like to be the one to score it?!

Aubameyang: As a striker you want to score in every game. But this history-making goal would be a great story. We'll see ...
