• Dortmund's Aubameyang to return against Mainz.
  • Chicharito netted a hat-trick against Gladbach last term.
  • Müller has six goals in last seven appearances vs. Bremen.

Am I the only one who misses the winter break? Oh no, not because I’m sad that the Bundesliga is back, but because I can no longer make unlimited changes to my Official Fantasy Bundesliga team!

Now that you’re limited to just three transfers per week again, it's imperative that you choose wisely. You could certainly do a lot worse than bring in one or two of the following Bundesliga stars, all of whom are up against one of their favourite top-flight opponents on Matchday 18.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (16.45M, vs. 1. FSV Mainz 05)

Gabon’s early exit from the Africa Cup of Nations means Aubameyang could make his long-awaited comeback against Mainz on Saturday. The 27-year-old has four goals and five assists in just seven appearances against the Zerofivers, including a brace in Borussia Dortmund’s 2-1 victory at the SIGNAL IDUNA PARK earlier this season. Reason enough, you would think, for Tuchel to include Aubameyang in his starting XI at the Opel Arena on Saturday.

Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez (15.65M, vs. Borussia Mönchengladbach)

Bayer 04 Leverkusen fans will remember the Mexican’s superb display the last time he faced the Foals in December 2015 for many years to come. His hat-trick in just 14 second-half minutes helped Die Werkself to a 5-0 victory, kick-starting a run which would see them rise from eighth to third in just six matchdays. Chicharito has thus far failed to replicate his incredible form from last season, but luck might be about to change…

Thomas Müller (15.65M, vs. SV Werder Bremen)

Like Chicharito, Müller has been far from prolific this season. I wouldn’t be at all surprised, however, if the Germany international breaks his goalscoring duck in Bremen this weekend. Müller simply loves playing against the Green-Whites: He has scored six goals in his last seven meetings with them, setting up a further TEN. Will there ever be a more opportune moment to bring FC Bayern München’s Raumdeuter into your side?

Anthony Modeste (15.7M, vs. SV Darmstadt 98)

The Frenchman drew a blank in 1 FC Köln’s goalless draw at Mainz on Sunday, but will fancy his chances of notching his first goal of 2017 when the Billy Goats travel to the Jonathan-Heimes-Stadion am Böllenfalltor this weekend. Modeste has scored three goals in his three appearances against the struggling Lilies, including the second goal in a 2-0 win on the opening day of the season. Darmstadt will be keeping a particularly close eye on him on Saturday.

Filip Kostic (12.9M, vs. FC Ingolstadt 04)

I doubt there are many Hamburger SV or Ingolstadt players are top of your shopping list before Matchday 18, but if you’re feeling adventurous you might want to consider bringing Kostic into your side. The summer signing from VfB Stuttgart registered a goal and an assist against Die Schanzer last term and, despite scoring only five points on Matchday 17, earned at least 8 points in five of his last six league appearances of 2016. Worth a punt? Quite possibly.
