Following Simon Zoller's second-half equaliser, Anthony Modeste's last-minute winner to give 1. FC Köln a 2-1 win over Borussia Dortmund sent players and fans at the RheinEnergieSTADION alike into raptures. Not only did the Billy Goats grab three vital points, but they also scored their first goals in four matches on home soil.

1. FC Köln 2-1 Borussia Dortmund

Goals: 0-1 Sokratis (18’), 1-1 Zoller (82’), 2-1 Modeste (90’)

Simon Zoller (Köln striker): "It is amazing [to beat Dortmund in the last minute]. We realised in the first half that Dortmund were vulnerable. We really got into a rhythm in the second half and we deserved to win in the end."

Peter Stöger (Köln coach): "We gained more and more confidence as the game went along. My players did a sensational job."

Matthias Lehmann (Köln midfielder): "It couldn’t have gone better for us today."

Tennis star Sabine Lisicki also took to twitter to express her delight at the three points for her favourite side.

"Yes! How good was that! 2-1 to Köln and Simon Zoller scores!"

Roman Bürki (Dortmund goalkeeper): "Köln had more chances than we did; we hardly created any. We battled hard to stay 1-0 up and their equaliser was very unfortunate. But that gave Köln the impetus. It was a bitter afternoon."

Mats Hummels (Dortmund captain): "We have had a very good Hinrunde, but the result today has put a slight dampener on it."

Thomas Tuchel (Dortmund coach): "Mentally and physically, we weren't fresh enough. We sent out the wrong signals in the period after we took the lead. We didn’t recognise the opportunities when it was possible to kill the game off. We should have gone 2-0 up but didn’t. In the second half, we completely sat back and only really had possession in our own half."
