Arjen Robben and Philipp Lahm are racing to be fit for Wednesday's top-of-the-table tussle with RB Leipzig. Both players sat out the weekend's narrow win at SV Darmstadt 98, but returned to training on Monday – Robben joined up with the squad, while Lahm worked individually. If they fail to recover in time, Xabi Alonso and Rafinha should keep their places in the starting line-up. Douglas Costa, in spite of his stunning winner against Die Lilien, is likely to start on the bench.

Leipzig duo Naby Keita and Marcel Halstenberg are both nursing thigh injuries picked up in the 2-0 win over Hertha Berlin, and a last-minute decision is expected to be made on their involvement against FC Bayern München. Should they miss out, Dominik Kaiser would come into midfield to replace Keita, with Benno Schmitz slotting in at left-back for Halstenberg.
