Lukas Hradecky (Eintracht Frankfurt, 12 points)

A clean sheet – already his seventh of the season – earned Hradecky five points, but it was a busy evening for him against local rivals 1. FSV Mainz 05 and he had to make numerous saves to earn a further three points, added to his nice win and appearance bonus.

Marvin Plattenhardt (Hertha Berlin, 18)

Had it not been for a yellow card, Marvin Plattenhardt would have had 19 points, not that he did not do enough to earn his place on the Team of the Week. A goal and an assist in Hertha's 2-0 win over SV Darmstadt 98, including a winning goal, and plenty of tackles won boosted his season's best single matchday total.

Jonas Hector (1. FC Köln, 14)

There was simply no getting past the Germany international, who picked up a stonking 12 points from 21 tackles won – a result of his 68 per cent success rate. He notched over 10 points for the fifth time this season.

Timothy Chandler (Eintracht Frankfurt, 13)

Chandler's tackles were another key feature in Frankfurt's derby win, with excellent cover provided in front of Hradecky and a challenge success rate of 75 per cent. The clean sheet also boosted his total, while a few attempts on goal gave the rock-solid defender a bonus point.

Wendell (Bayer 04 Leverkusen, 15)

Wendell won as many points (six) for the goal he scored as he did for the number of tackles he won in Bayer 04 Leverkusen's 1-1 draw in Cologne. It was his first goal in 53 Bundesliga games.

Daniel Caligiuri (VfL Wolfsburg, 16)

Another goalscorer on Matchday 16, but it was his tackling which earned Caligiuri the most points. A hive of activity, he also had more shots on goal than anybody else in the game, in addition to finding the back of the net.

Thiago Alcantara (FC Bayern München, 21)

The top performer in midweek was the Bayern midfielder, who picked up a whopping eight points from the 21 tackles he won, in addition to the four for his goal and two for an assist. He also had five shots.

Nicolai Müller (Hamburger SV, 17)

Another goalscoring midfielder who was also busy – and successful – in winning the ball back for his team. His hand in HSV's win also included five shots – just one fewer than the entire FC Schalke 04 side.

Branimir Hrgota (Eintracht Frankfurt, 18)

Hrgota embodied his side's battling qualities with four points from the many duels he won, in addition to his two goals and an assist, ensuring he had a hand in all three of Frankfurt's goals and made a major contribution to their obtaining three points.

Robert Lewandowski (FC Bayern München, 14)

The most expensive player on Official Bundesliga Fantasy underlined once again exactly why that is the case with another goal and his now-customary collection of attempts.

Florian Niederlechner (SC Freiburg, 17)

A new entry in the Team of the Week, Niederlechner scored a brace in SC Freiburg's win at FC Ingolstadt 04. It was his first ever brace and first penalty in the Bundesliga, having also converted the first one he ever took in Bundesliga 2.

Watch: Lewandowski felt he should have scored more than just one:
