VfL Wolfsburg have completed the signing of Riechedly Bazoer from Dutch giants AFC Ajax. Bazoer, who will join the Wolves upon the opening of the January transfer window, has put pen to paper on a contract until 2021.
Bazoer, 20, has already won six caps for the Netherlands, having represented the country at every age-group level.
"I know Riechedly Bazoer well and really believe in the quality he possesses," said Wolfsburg head coach Valerien Ismael. "He suits our team perfectly and can help VfL get back on the right track."
A holding midfielder by trade, Bazoer found the net six times in 51 appearances for Ajax, alerting the attention of other leading European clubs.
"We have had a close eye on Riechedly Bazoer for quite some time and we are delighted that he has opted to sign for VfL Wolfsburg, in spite of having further offers from other renowned clubs," said Olaf Rebbe, Sporting Director at VfL Wolfsburg. "He is just at the beginning of his career and we are convinced that he will make the next step in his development here with us."
