Injury problems could force Köln to start in a 5-3-2 formation against Dortmund. Midfielder Marco Höger is back after a knee injury, but Simon Zoller (shoulder) and Anthony Modeste (knee) both missed training on Tuesday due to minor complaints, and will have to undergo late fitness tests to see if they are able to play. It would be a major blow for Peter Stöger to lose top goalscorer Modeste, who has netted 12 Bundesliga goals for the Billy Goats this season.

Thomas Tuchel is expected to name a strong side at the RheinEnergieSTADION, even if this game comes just three days after an intense UEFA Champions League encounter with Real Madrid CF - Dortmund are, after all, nine points adrift of leaders RB Leipzig heading into Matchday 14. Mario Götze, who missed the trip to the Spanish capital due to a minor knee injury, has failed to recover in time for Saturday's clash, but Shinji Kagawa and Raphael Guerreiro may return to the squad.
