SV Werder Bremen are likely to welcome back centre-back Lamine Sané in place of Milos Veljkovic, while Robert Bauer is expected to keep his place at right-back after impressing in the Nordderby draw against Hamburger SV. Max Kruse is a doubt after picking up an ankle knock, and would logically be replaced by veteran Claudio Pizarro if he failed to recover in time. Serge Gnabry and captain Clemens Fritz are expected to shake off minor complaints and start the game, while USMNT international Aron Johannsson could make his first Bundesliga appearance since October.

New FC Ingolstadt 04 coach Maik Walpurgis has hardly any injury concerns ahead of Saturday's game against Bremen. He could well field the same starting eleven for a third match in a row, having overseen Die Schanzer's first win of the season at SV Darmstadt 98, and a draw with VfL Wolfsburg. Right-back Tobias Levels is available again after serving a two-match suspension, though he is likely to start on the bench, while Dario Lezcano and Lukas Hinterseer are alternative options in attack.
