- Aubameyang has fond memories of facing Frankfurt.
- Pizarro with prolific record against Hamburg.
- Werner has scored more goals against Freiburg than any other club.
Matchday 11 was a frustrating one for me in Official Fantasy Bundesliga terms. The players I sold on Friday (apologies, Willi Orban) scored well into double figures, while their replacements failed to sparkle.
Do not let that stop you from reading my articles though. On the contrary: If, like me, you are lying awake at night wondering who to bring into your Official Fantasy Bundesliga side on Matchday 12, the following information might be of interest...
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (15.95M, vs. Eintracht Frankfurt)
The Gabon star scored the only goal of the game against FC Bayern München on Saturday and will be licking his lips at the prospect of facing Frankfurt. Aubameyang has been directly involved in six goals in as many appearances against the Eagles (four goals, two assists), although he has yet to score or set up a goal at the Commerzbank Arena. No time like the present...
Claudio Pizarro (12.1M, vs. Hamburger SV)
Pizarro has rediscovered his fitness just in time for Saturday's Nordderby, which is bad news if you are a Hamburger SV fan. The veteran SV Werder Bremen frontman has scored more goals against the Red Shorts (19 in 26 appearances) than any other Bundesliga club, including a stunning bicycle-kick in FC Bayern München's 4-1 win at the Volksparkstadion back in 2014. HSV, beware!
Vedad Ibisevic (11.2M, vs. 1. FSV Mainz 05)
Hertha Berlin's star striker is without a goal since Matchday 8, but the Bosnia & Herzegovina hitman has three goals and four assists in six meetings with Mainz, the Old Lady's opponents on Sunday. Even if he doesn't find the net against the Zerofivers on Saturday, Ibisevic's record in the challenges department makes him a useful member of your Official Fantasy Bundesliga squad.
Andre Hahn (11.9M, vs. TSG 1899 Hoffenheim)
He is not guaranteed a place in the Borussia Mönchengladbach starting XI on Matchday 12, but Hahn's record against in-form Hoffenheim might just tip the scales in his favour: The 26-year-old has registered a goal and an assist in each of his last two appearances against Die Kraichgauer, and with Thorgan Hazard and Raffael yet to rediscover their form following injury, Hahn might just get the nod in attack.
Timo Werner (11.45M, vs. SC Freiburg)
RB Leipzig's joint-top scorer has netted more frequently against Freiburg than against any other team in Germany's top flight (three goals in four appearances). The 20-year-old former VfB Stuttgart man is enjoying his most prolific season to date and will fancy his chances of adding to his current league tally of five goals against Christian Streich's charges.
