VfL Wolfsburg midfielder Julian Draxler is not going to be fit in time to face his former club FC Schalke 04 this weekend with the adductor injury he picked up a fortnight ago still keeping him out of action. Vieirinha and Robin Knoche are both back in training, however, and both are available. Josuha Guilavogui is also in line for a return to the squad for the first time since breaking a vertebra in July.

The stomach injury which forced Schalke striker Franco Di Santo to be replaced during the Revierderby is still causing the Argentinian problems and he is therefore unlikely to be available on Saturday, meaning he joins Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Breel Embolo on the sidelines. Fortunately for coach Markus Weinzierl, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting has been training fully this week, after missing international duty with a knee injury, and nothing appears to be preventing him from starting.
