With Christoph Kramer suspended, Mahmoud Dahoud is set to return against the team he celebrated his first team debut against 14 months ago. He is expected to play alongside Tobias Strobl, who will fulfil the defensive duties and give Dahoud a free rein to support the attacking midfielders and forwards.

Timo Horn has undergone surgery on his knee during the international break after picking up an injury in training, and he is not set to return until the new year. That means a change in goal, and Peter Stöger has confirmed that Thomas Kessler will be picked over Sven Müller for this, and probably the Billy Goats' remaining six games of 2016. Defender Dominic Maroh and midfielder Leonardo Bittencourt are also in the treatment room at present.
